I went to the Congo, to see the Missions there.
To see how Missionaries show their love and care.
I saw the feeding program, for the children of the street.
Because of lack of funding, three times a week they eat.
Children wander through the streets of a city very poor.
Just one of many in this land, torn apart by war.
Dressed in rags and shoe-less, with a smiling face they came.
A little boy asked me for shoes, I do not know his name.
I climbed aboard an airplane and left that world behind.
But the thought of that little boy, has never left my mind.
I prayed, “Oh God, with all that pain, is there something we can do?”
And then a voice came loud and clear, “I did, I just sent you.”
I thank God every day for sending us to the Congo. Gail and I realize how blessed we are and hope with this program we can make a difference in a child’s life.
